| Geoform | Tree Fall |
| Definition | Tree falls are trees or woody parts that have sunk to the deep ocean floor (generally 2,000 meters or deeper) and may remain there for decades. They are colonized by a specialized group of wood-boring organisms such as xylophaga (a bivalve) and several crustaceans. Tree falls also support a suite of predators and scavengers. |
